Neighborhoods

Like in many US-American cities, San Francisco has a Chinatown and a Japan town. Chinatown in San Francisco, located between Financial District, Downtown, and North Beach neighborhoods, is the biggest Chinese neighborhood outside of China. Also San Francisco has small Vietnamese, Philippine, Italian, Russian, and French quarters. The first district with Spanish origins was Mission District. The word and district Castro can be associated with a big concentration of gay people in America. The biggest Afro-American community is located southeast of Bayview and Hunters Point. The most Asians are living in Richmond, which is located at the west side of San Francisco north of the Golden Gate Park. South of Market Street you will find Soma (South of Market) which is known for its art galleries.
